the release

Contributed by lillyjane on Sunday, 6th August 2006 @ 09:04:08 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I kept you a prisoner, in a gulded cage,
I kept you locked up, fed on fear and rage,
tormented with emotion,I never let you sleep,
I caused you pain and suffering, until I made you weep,

then one day compasion, for you filled my heart,
I realized the day had come, for you and I to part,
I opened up the door, watched as you flew free,
the burden of your suffering, a sudden weight of me,

Goodbye sweet bird, my little bird of pain,
fly into the world your part of it again,
you flew into the sky. the sun shone on your wings,
yes my little bird, you deserve better things,

I had kept you prisoner, on fear watched you grow,
yet its me who is free, now Ive let you go,
sometimes I hear you near, hear your flapping wings,
sorry little bird, I can not let you in...

Very gently penned poem of the sometimes hard facts of life. You've written a very nice poem here and I can relate to it very much.

Thank you.

Incredible write Lilly. Yes setting long times free is the very hardest thing to do. Our society teaches us to bottle up wear the mask, well to hell with the mask let it go fly with the wind! I'm glad that you made this step, what a happy experience it is to have the weight lifted. We walk with a lighter step.
hugsssssss
Michelle
