JUDGE ROY MOORE

Contributed by Lionel on Sunday, 6th August 2006 @ 07:56:47 PM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

A good man I knew ( among very few )
stood firm in line against a wicked kind,
who subvert our land with an evil brand
of Godless rule, and decree's so cruel.

False religion we find, from the humanist mind,
in our courts and schools with insidious rules,
to banish the truth from our hapless youth:
A terrible weed wrought of putrid seed.

Yet, Roy continues to fight for the Creator's right
to be identified, and his name inscribed
as the fountain-head of this freedom's land -
paying the price with a strife filled life.

Being mis-understood by both bad and good,
who don't understand the founding father's plan
to make men free and with faith to be
in sweet harmony with his soveriegnty.

Some men are told, as Isaiah of old,
to sound an alarm of the nations harm,
when to Baal they stray in a foolish way -
and deify sin with the commandments of men.

I don't here write of the creatures might,
or his power of will, knowledge to instil,
but of quickening power in an appointed hour,
making men to hear of the judgement near.

God calls a man out with his Spirit to shout
of the ruin we draw when we flout his law;
lest we humbly repent before his patience is spent.
What a merciful God, to send warning before the rod.

Isaiah 3:9 & 6:8

Lionel

Very poignant Lionel, and soo true.
I is tragic that so very few man are brave and 'hold the law of men higher than the law of God (inscribed into their hearts)
"I inscribed my law into their hearts" says the Lord, - you are the expert AND know where in Isiah the verse is to be found). but many have ears and do not want to hear, and eyes and do not want to see.
Thanks for reminding us.of the one thing needed.
Blessings
Elizabeth

Have to check my geneology to see if the Judge and I are related. Rather doubt it.

Another very well penned and briskly flowing write of your religious insights filtered through the religious "shouts" of another. Enjoyed.
