Rainy Season High
It's called the Rainy Season
A tropical act that opens after the curtain has been lowered
On abundant sunshine that affects skin, the eyes
And reason.
In the bright glare of a palm-accented life
The body is invigorated, basking
In a sunlit circus of new-found energy.
But then
Pouring, drenching, soaking and lightening
Come storming in, hand in wet hand, the Rainy Time
To greet Lady June and one's mood and body change
So much.
Eyes open full wide now and
Minds agree to follow
The Earth's aged pattern, sponging most everything and
Promoting growth.
The body's lotions laid away
Thoughts race anew across writers' cooling synapses.
Children leaping wide puddles, racing on to novel
Thought. Reflection.
Suddenly blue-green pastures of language
Blossom in light morning showers of inspiration
Leaving all thoughts of sunshine's hot, draining rays
Behind. Forgotten.
By writers.
For Now.

Nice! I have long held that writers/artists experience the world and its wonders in a way that extends well beyond the everyday, the ordinary. The experience is always something more than might be casually observed - and the true magic, I'm convinced, is not in the observation itself but in the reflections upon the observation(s). For a writer, it isn't just what the world hands you... but where it sends you that matters most - even (or perhaps mostly) when the destination is within.
After having read this piece...... I'm seriously inclined to think that I didn't really need to say all that. Clearly... you already knew.
Feeling, too, an inclination to keep an eye on your page,
