Sightless Vision

Contributed by Willofree on Thursday, 3rd August 2006 @ 05:45:40 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

In my minds eye an image is formed
Of it's true meaning one may be quite uninformed
The image is conceived from somewhere within
Yet it remains unclear therein

Preconceived notions, vision obscured
At a side-glance, everything blurred
Stare straight ahead,
Lost in fog within my head

It becomes obvious to me,
You can be blinded by prejudices we see
Other forms of distorted vision which occur
Looking right past, or too stubborn to observe

Frequently the sighted look, but do not see
While the blind, find multiple sources of imagery
What faulty stipulations
Provided us with inaccurate associations

Short sighted, selective in what is seen
The blind rely more on imagination and imagery
All sources of contemplation
Are available for information

Insight is constructive, in figuring things out
Attempting to discover solutions within and throughout
But there must be clear vision
Unencumbered by too many revisions

Yes Terry, much like Eyes Blind Open ... we sometimes see only what we want to see. We believe what we want to believe, regardless of whether or not it is true. People allow themselves to fall into the traps of ignorance and predjudice and over look the values of family, education, religion, and the benefits of self reliance. They feel as though the world owes them everything ... well maybe one day we'll all become enlightened.

Wil .. a brilliant conception of thought here, dear friend.
I am in total agreement with snazzy. It is all too often that
the sighted are blind to so many important values and
lessons .. and very very sad.

Your piece is wonderfully thought provoking and enormously
enlightening. A monumental thought, exceptionally conveyed.

I have always beleived, there is more to seeing....its also feeling what you sometimes, wished, you could see......Somehow this hits most....we look, yet do not really see, and then we fall from being blinded. Wonderful post.....Words flowed...Thanks for sharing
