I have a fear of heights
Yet here I stand
On the roof of life
And the roof of death
The streetlights seem so inviting
As if they are calling me
To join them on the ground
Yet I stand on the edge
My mind racing with thoughts
Of why I should fall
And join the lights
Or why I should climb
Back down into my life
I think I’ve mad my decision
As I begin to step off
The ledge of my fate
But then comes my fear
My fear of heights
I step back
With a new realization
That I fear my life as well
And running from fear
Doesn’t make anything more clear
It just adds to the chaos
Of one’s mind and soul
So I let out a smile
And step off the ledge
Ready to face life
