Life's weary travelers
Running on blistered feet
Running from old man death
They have no time to sleep
Their time here is ending
Excitement mixed with fear
Sorrow is in leaving
All those things they hold dear
Voices are more distant
Faces begin to blur
Ears are now not hearing
What more must they endure
Echos come from the past
Of happier days gone
To hold off old man death
They must not tarry long
Can't make themselves be heard
Throats are so very dry
Spirits now without hope
They know that soon they'll die
Death is now within reach
Weary travelers smile
Now they could lie in peace
They'd walked that one last mile

Pornstar - what a brazen name! good stuff. Loved the poem. The metaphorical journey of life and the image of death as catching up or waiting for you is cross cultural and age old, but you did it justice here. I could feel myself on the path, see the travelers, felt like one of them.
