Skeletons in your Cupboard

Contributed by jerseysue on Wednesday, 2nd August 2006 @ 02:02:32 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

We all have little secrets , that we like to keep,.
And parts of our lives, that we lock away so deep,
Things that we won't talk about, or even discuss,
For fear that people will judge, and think badly of us,

We sometimes have situations, that call us to be cruel,
Well life isn't a fairy tale, we can't always follow rules,
And sometimes we have been hurt, and really very bad,
We think that people look on us, as being someone sad,

Well that is the misfortune that we live by every day,
With these skeletons hidden, in the closet faraway,
So when the time comes to let those secrets come out,
Look at things carefully, Don't think you have to shout,

Just keep calm, and let them free, it will take away your fear,
You will see it wasn't so bad, your conscience now is clear,
So go on and live your life, just like Old mother hubbard,
For just like her, you will have, nothing in your cupboard.

Very good advice and very true thoughts written wonderfully, as you always do. Like I have said before, you really got that "flow" thing goin' on. :-)

Thank you for sharing this with us. ;-)

(who however feels he'll always have something in his cupboard)

Sue, this was such an emotive piece and truly wonderful
advice in the finale. It is incredibly hard to let out those
skeletons, though, no? We must first learn to trust, and
that, I fear, is a very hard thing to do in today's society.
So much labelling and judging going on .. it's all so
very sad.

A poetic bit of pensive thought hun. Very well done.

Sue~
I have to second Breezy's comment on this one my dear friend. We gotta learn to trust and that in itself is a big thing. There are things better off left in the back of the cupboard than out in the open. People can be very judgemental, cruel and unkind~
The rhyme and flow sensational as always. Well done my dear friend.
love n hugs,

Yes, Sue, a real 'connecting' poem with the reader, with that universal theme of personal secrets- usually dark or shameful.

As George Bernard Shaw was quoted as saying,

'If you can't get rid of the skeleton in your closet, you'd best teach it to dance.'
