I viewed the dust upon my desk
There in my chair, I was shocked
Wondering, how did it get there?
Where in my room it was locked
I tried to fight, and by doing so
I bolted tightly my door
But the dust from the outside
Had come to me, I tried to ignore
All I wanted was, to be left alone
From dust and other things
So I locked myself up in my home
Away from tired life, what it sometime brings
But where is my home I asked myself
Could truly behind this locked door?
Be so grand, not even a sound from birds
Was heard from the clock anymore
My heart, it was beginning to harden
For it felt heavy as a stone
And the more I noticed that dust
My anger rose, and I needed to be left alone
But how could I have possibly felt that way
When my heart is nothing but love
Still I wanted to turn my table over
And say, hell to all, and above
I grabbed my pencil; I held it firmly
And tried to write out my feelings
But all I could see was that dust on my desk
Where in my chair, sadness was reeling
I knew what it was, humbly I wrote
My friends have gone away
So I sat there in my locked up room
And got angered at dust yesterday
My heart it said, keep loving
My mind it said, go away
And then I decided it was not worth it
So I went to find my key, but hey
It was on the outside of my door
And wow, I was locked inside
So I took my lonely time, to smooth away
That dust with my hands and ugly feelings died

Wow .. a very powerful write. I love how it builds to such
a calm and almost anticlimatic ending.
Painfully emotional .. excellent piece.
