Silent Screams

Contributed by HeArTbRoKEnGiRl on Thursday, 27th July 2006 @ 09:14:19 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

He was only 16 years old
His death was something that wasn't foretold
he used to be so full of joy
his parents didn't want to believe he was depressed, they said,"no,not our boy!"
everyone talked about him behind his back...
just because he dressed in black!
His smile was as broken as the heart it hid
though no one thought their words hurt him... they really did
their words tore through him like a silent scream
changing everything about him, making him dream
making him dream of suicide and not having to hide
his thoughts were poisoning him on the inside
one day, everything got to be too much
and his "dreams" became real with every single touch
he then pulled out a knife and slit a vein
and while the blood was released, so was the pain
soon he blacked out... blood dripping on the floor
he just couldn't live his life anymore
by the time they found him, he was already dead
he had bled to death while laying on his bed
after they found him, everyone was sad
but why did they feel sad when they had treated him so bad?
on the day of his funeral, a week after he died
everyone was so confused... some people couldn't even cry
they all questioned why and how
and you can bet that his parents knew the truth now!
they had finally realized that he was depressed
and that all of his feelings he had repressed
but they were too late
and because of their lack of understanding. death had become his fate
everyone told them how sorry they were for their loss
his parents would forever have to pay the cost
He hadn't thought of the people he left behind
if only destroying lives was a crime!

Condolences on your loss. How tragic and a waste of a young life. Depression should be taken seriously. His parents would be hoping they could turn back the hands of time. Sadly that can't be done and they have paid the ultimate cost, their sons life.
A very well expressed and penned write.
Take care.
big heartfelt hugs,
sue m
