I Survive

Contributed by jerseysue on Thursday, 27th July 2006 @ 02:20:05 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

I don't believe in miracles,
Or even fairy tales,
Story books don't interest me,
And at love I often fail,

But I can write a rhyme or two,
About love or even hope,
Can even write of distress,
And what its like to cope,

I dream of life, a better one,
Where I don't feel out of place,
Where fear of failure is no more,
And I have a smile upon my face,

I count my blessings one by one,
There aren't many, only a few,
Buts that is enough to encourage me ,
When I am lost and blue,

I choose my friends wisely,
For I know whom I can trust,
The ones who are in tune with me,
And are fair and never unjust,

So in conclusion, I decree,
I manage to survive,
And one last note , and I quote,
I am happy to be alive.

I too am happy u r alive but I do believe in miracles as I'm a walking miracle. I've seen death many times but the will to live and my faith brought me back each time.
U certainly are a good writer.

Ohhh, I can relate to this entire piece ---- well... with the exception of that first stanza (I am absolutely unwilling to let go my belief that fairy tale endings and miracles are possible *wink*).

Like other writes of yours, I think this could easily have been posted in the 'inspirational' category. It is, again, wonderfully positive. I adore your perspective and think, frankly, it will serve you well. I truly, truly believe hope, faith and positivity are the means by which dreams are born and realized. We all have our blue moments (it is only reasonable that we do, necessary even I'd say) - oh, but they should not let us lose sight of how blessed we are.

Ah, life! What a glorious journey it is! I was just rambling a bit in an email last night about how beautiful life is... it's not always easy, of course... but it is, I'm convinced, always beautiful. : )

Keep writing -
~Snemmy

I believe you would be a great children's writer not only because of the beautiful sing songy quality in all of your poems but also because you have an underlying note of hope and courage. I feel you are most comfortable in this scope because it is what you live and breathe as it comes through your writing. That would be key to children's writing as well because they can feel what's real and know what's real faster than anything. Your words are genuine and I think you should stick with it. It is obvious you have a knack for it.

I know I've said it before but it's true; you have a wonderful flow thing going on with your poems.

I too am glad you are alive and here to share inspirational poems like this. I'd have to say though, that I do think miracles exist. At least I hope so and I think I have personally witnessed at least one.

Take care and thanks for sharing this one.

Tim
