We were friends and we knew it well
But then is when I went through pure hell
I felt terribly broken and all alone
The night my lover broke up with me while on the phone
I went to bed feelings useless and dead
When all of a sudden I remembered something you said
I was there for you when you needed it most
And now I need you to act as a firm post
Every night for months I poured out my heart
As you helped stich my life back apart
Everytime I needed you, you were there
You never said "maybe later, not now, or I don't care"
Sometimes you made sacrifices to console me
Even if it meant staying up at night until three
You were always positive and kept a clear mind
A friend like you is sure hard to find
Without you in that time of darkness I don't know what I would have done
But I always knew to you I could run
You were there when others turned me away
But you welcomed me into your arms and told me to stay
You acted as an angel sent from above
Constantly giving me much needed love
To you I could tell all my sorrows and fears
And I probably shed over a million tears
You always told me to keep the eyes dry
Because no boy is worth a good cry
Everyone deserves to have a friend like you
which is hard for most people to do
I can never thank you enough
Without you in my life things would be tough

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
