Night Vs. Day

Topic: LostLove

the love of the maiden
was unrivaled
she lived only for him
loved only him
her eyes were cloudless midnight
and her hair it's shadow
her fair skin surpassed Luna's pale glow
the keeper or her heart
was the lord of the castle
she served as a maid
bringing him dinner
pouring him wine
she loved him
his eyes were golden suns
and his hair red as sunset
as it curled about his face
his skin bronzed
by a thousand days
each day he swore he loved only her
and had he but asked
she would have gone to him
without regret
forsaking her maidenhood
but one day a shadow fell upon her life
a lady appeared in court
with eyes of brightest blue
and hair of golden sunlight
the lord saw her and he loved her
the maiden faded into a shadow in his mind
as the lady grew brighter
One evening he announced his marriage
to the lady
tears welled in the maiden's eyes
as their happiness was toasted
but a fire burned in the maiden's heart
and as she brought the wine she formed a plan
that night
under veil of darkness
she visited an apothecary
and bougth a lethal poison
the next night at the engagement
the maiden poured a special wine
and none noticed the wicked gleam in her eyes
that night they all slept
and never woke again
the lady was found
her face slashed and her hair torn
the lord had the print of blood covered lips
upon his mouth
the kiss of death some say
and the maiden
her wrists were slashed
none go to the castle now
for they say the maiden holds a ghostly court
with the lord at her side
and a scarred lady
serving the wine

Again, I like your style and in this case even the way the words are laid out on the page. Careful and well done. Keep it up.
