The Law Of Planting

Contributed by Gentlemanpoet on Tuesday, 25th July 2006 @ 11:08:30 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

In ages past when time began, laws were set in motion.
Dry land for man, the sky for birds, the fish there in the ocean.
Gravity a law for us, that keeps man on the ground.
If we sow that’s what we reap, another law that’s bound.
When we plant an apple seed, an apple tree it grows.
This law of planting applies to us; each reaps just what he sows.
Today the world has planted hate, and now that’s what we reap.
The violence and prejudice, those ugly sins we keep.
How long the season for sins to grow, and harvest comes at last.
We are reaping even now, from plantings in the past.
The fruits we gather from our sins, our children pay the cost.
Humanity reaps just what she sows, the future all but lost.
If we all could join as one, and sow the seeds of love.
We might avert, that harvest grave, and judgment from above.

I'm surprised this has so few reads. It's got a great message and great flow. I loved the poem! Beautifully done. :)
