silent majority

empty chairs
fill the room,
planks of wood
with metal bars.
they seem lonely in
their quiet solitude.
sunbeams strain
through window pains,
making fast friends.
stilted air
holds its breath
afraid of causing
any disturbance.
subtle silence
sits softly
and waits.
