Soldiers Beyond the Grave

Contributed by RLWildPassions on Monday, 24th July 2006 @ 04:16:34 PM in AEST
Topic: Patriotic

Those things did not belong to you
The stars and lovely moon at night,
Promising rainbow and all its’ gold
Sun overhead that shone so bright

Nothing truly belonged to you
Except what you were on earth,
You appointed us to kill for you
Still, we had our spiritual re-birth

Greatest enemy, we knew what you were made of
So sleep in your hell, there what you make,
We won; we made our choice, presented by God
We do not weep; we have our peace; we are awake

All the time we knew where we were going
And here, we spend eternity,
With Him; He who loves everyone
But just know, He’ll keep striking down your activity

So call Him a teacher; Call Him a prophet
He will end all of your disorderly behavior,
Call Him a liar; call Him a fake
But we soldiers; we still call Him; our Loving Savior!

Dear Heavenly Father:

Hear my prayer. Please forgive me for being angry with the person who posted comment on my lovely poem, I wrote for all those beautiful soldiers that are with you now. Please hold my tongue for anger, and help me to always be like you, nothing but love.

Amen

Dear person who posted, thank you for taking your time to comment on my poem. I pray you read more of my poems as time goes by, and I will read yours as well. RL

What a magnificent tribute to soldiers.
Oh how God loves them.
I wish everybody knew that when the Christian faith was first proclaimed to pagans, the missionaries had to find a paradigm, or image by which He could be made attractive to people whose ideal was the Hero.
As the Greeks had their Achilles and the Trojans their Hector, they were their ideals - thus they would not and could not, but have an ideal as divinity other than the image of the archetypal
'HERO"
And it was under this image that they accepted the Christian Faith with Christ as Hero, a man of battle triumphant. Who dies and is their Saviour. It is under the image of Hero Soldier that the Church won her first pagan converts. The soldier hero that lies his life down as defender of his people.

Your poem is so pofoundly moving because it is exactly in our day that so many do not give due reverence to those that fight for them, as the God appointed whose moral excellence and valor reflect an attribute of divinity that humanity since its beginning has held so dear and venerable.
Thanks for this beautiful poem
The spirits of the fallen soldiers thank you

Thank You! To serve, and not be served; what is your question? Read before united...

From cooks to officers, I have researched; low and behold; above the surface; many say better than below; yet; above it all; lies the truth;

Speak not of where truth is found, but on the grounds from which it lies;

To help is not an action, but in front, aboad forfront the face;

When all is done; when does it go; and where is it finished;

A start begun; finishes last.

Help before, not after the deed has died.
