To-DO List

To-Do List
~
I hesitated as I walked into the room,
Surely, it can’t be past noon.
Where did the day go?
Am I moving that slow?
~
My to-do list is long,
Where did I go wrong?
How did I let the day?
Gradually slip away.
~
Was my shower too long?
Did I get lost in a song?
Were my eggs overcooked?
Was I reading a book?
~
How could four hours just vanish?
Not even combing my hair did I manage.
No grass did get mowed,
No garden got hoed
~.
Oh boy, am I in trouble,
Unless I move on the double.
But now it’s time for lunch,
And I’m ready to munch.
~
There is always tomorrow,
I say in deep sorrow.
I’ll get up before dawn,
And start with the lawn.
~
But wait, don’t I have plans?

Procrastination, the thing that makes the world stop in it's tracks, lol. I've had days when all of a sudden it's 4 in the afternoon and I haven't done anything, lol. But your right, why do today what you can put off till tomorrow, lol.

There truly isn't enough time in the day for the things we need to do, and you did a good job here.

I wasn't really drawn to the poem upon reading the title, but as it turned out, the title is precisely what made it work perfectly:) And the last stanza is a good examble on how simpel rhyming not nessesarily is bad, in fact, it works quite good in yours.

There is always tomorrow,
I say in deep sorrow.
I’ll get up before dawn,
And start with the lawn.

Good job.
