War crimes against civilians
And the world stands watching
Ten Lebanese die to each Israeli
With Bush on the sidelines coaching
Callous bombs destroying lives
Hitting a nation just beginning
To climb up from its violent past
Now they see their country dying
The Israelis pose as innocent doves
While their weapons pound the poor
They preach peace while delivering hate
As the world holds open the door
The hands of Bush and Olmert are bloody
As with Iraq it's another ruthless game
How long will the Israeli terrorists kill?
Do these people have no shame?

I absolutely respect your idealism my friend,
but terrorism has been fraught, and from countries like, Lebenon, Iraq, Afganistan, Iran and the like..
I've never seen a news report, detailing an account of an Isreali suicide bomber taking innocent lives - but there's much more than, meets the eye, I know. but I digress..
NOTHING good can come from war.
..but it's in the nature of our own species, to destroy ourselves.. by any means.
The mental evolution of humanity is the answer..
only that-
Respectfully yours-
Billy

I cannot identify with the extremist view of Islam exhibited by Hezbollah in Lebanon and the mayhem that their actions have produced. However, I also think of the dying and misplaced in the Middle East, now particularily in Lebanon and feel compassion and empathy for their situation. However, I feel strongly for the rights of Israel. They also face destruction and dying civilians in their country. My wish would be that both sides could agree to disagree and cease the violence. If you live in the United States do you not feel compassion for the civilians that have died in our own country by the hands of terrorists? Or those in Africa, Bosnia, Cambodia, etc. The list is endless. Reasonable people must come forward and help stop the mayhem or we are all lost. Your poem is very thought provoking and because we live in a free society we are all able to express different views without torture or death befalling us. |

Thank you for posting this poem. I cannot understand how a seemingly religious country can kill so many innocent children and civilians, whilst america stands by them.
how can the capture of two israeli soldiers warrant this? it is an excuse.. what about the thousands of captured people israel has?
violence breeds violence and this will only strengthen the resolve of extremists and terrorists around the world. America will find this out. Lebanon is such a beautiful country, the people want peace, This country is just a weak area where america and iran can fight without endangering their own country. It is a tragedy. |
