Doing what I do best.

Contributed by krish on Monday, 10th February 2003 @ 02:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You opened my heart and found a way inside,
No longer do the shadows have a place to hide.
It must, it cant, it has to be true.
If I keep my eyes closed, I'll always be with you.

Opened them once and now I live in regret.
Mommy and Daddy, lucky in love; want to bet?
Divorce, Rejection, there is always someone better.
But why should a 13 year old have to sign a custody letter?

It's an old feeling, this time with a new face.
Its familiar warmth, yet such a strange place.
I think that I am sad, or maybe just depressed,
Or maybe I am just being just me, and doing what I do best.

Others who possess happiness make me
covet. They have it all and think nothing of it.
You give me passion, loyalty and infinite
wealth, How dare you ask me about my emotional health?

You lie there reassuring me that all is well,
She broke my heart - don't you, too, put me
through that hell!
"Trust me," you say, as if those words weren't seared into my head.
If you cheat on me *****, I'll have that B**tard Dead!

It's an old feeling, this time with a new face.
It's a strange cold, yet such a familiar place.
I think that I am sad, or maybe just depressed,
Or maybe I am just being just me, and doing what I do best.

Sorry I'm so late. I was on another leave of absence from this place.. :)

I think that I am sad, or maybe just depressed,
Or maybe I am just being just me, and doing what I do best.

^^ I like this part. I like how you used that whole stanza twice. Effective and minimalistic. Good writing.

Dear Christian, You write well. It seems you have alot to write about. Let the trials make you strong. You can make days brighter for yourself and others. Be wise. Bizzy
