Trapped, caged, alone.
Will I ever learn the error of my ways?
Will I forever walk this earth by myself?
The names, the voices, the hell
I hear them, I see them so clearly.
I want to be like the One on high,
I want to have someone near me
someone to hold me, someone to love me.
Do I deserve that?
Am I blind to myself?
Does my cage control my emotions?
Am I what I've been told?
Questions, questions, questions
roaming in my head
with no answers in sight.
Should I pick the lock to my cage
and step out into the world?
Should I show the world who I am
and let them know the truth?
That, no matter how fearful it may be,
is what I must do.
It is what I need to do,
in order to be me
and in order to feel free.
