De'Auna Gothic Immortal

Contributed by doug on Thursday, 20th July 2006 @ 05:19:29 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Dour old crosses brooding in mist
eyes of moon pallid hue did assess
De'Auna refined or De'Auna possessed
stood she devoid and left me to guess

lunar those eyes held sway upon tides
of passion in souls lesser as I
venture I boldly and stand her beside
or cower enthralled by mythos and fright?

not I methinks ; not one of the sword
spilled I not blood of heros and lords?
thus did my courage better my core
a quivering mass soaked long in the lore

sneaking went I 'pon heels quite weary
spoken softly , her state I did queary
closer said she , lest I mishear thee
closer said she , 'less thou should fear me

I idle not at verbal attack
wrathful I sped and threw her aback
to late discerned I the bait and the trap
anger hath lulled my fear to a nap

nervous convictions I held in my youth
of mystical horrors with dagger for tooth
stood now before me a sobering truth
lycanthropy loomed , unfettered , uncouth

no terror thus forth would hold her sway
sword forgotten , De'Auna enraged
within her abold no strength to abate
within her abold ; my blood she would drink

what hungers so horrid as thee for thine wrist?
drink thy draught ye beast and feel bliss?
later awakened in blood and in mist
De'Auna I fear thee yet long for thy kiss

I actually liked this, which is saying something for I like very few poems here. This has a story, not just feelings put to rhyme. If you have the patience for it, I would suggest expanding this poem into a longer story.
