oops
|
I look across the room,
and see you lying there.
I long to hold you in my hands,
and learn all you have to share.
Together you and I can go
to another land,
to another time unknown
to an ignorant woman or man.
For hours we sit
and much is said.
When twilight comes,
I take you to my bed.
We lay there together
with a dim light on.
Sometimes we stay this way
'til the crack of dawn.
And when I'm through with you,
like all the rest
you'll stay in my mind
along with the best.
I close your cover
and wish you good health,
then I gently return you
to the book shelf.
