He smiles as the days go by, always looking for the right way.
He dreams of possibilities that he thinks aren’t endless.
He would give her the moon, the sky, the sun,
He would sacrifice his life, just to be with her.
He’s the world’s perfect man.
So why doesn’t a lot of people see that?
We are all so afraid of endless encounters,
We are all so frightened when the light fades in the sky,
We all cower underneath sheets, as he steps in the darkness,
He has a light that no one sees.
No one but her.
She hides in the alley and watches as he moves.
The swiftness of a bird,
The grace of a lioness.
She sees his odd light, sees him emerging from the darkness.
No one but him,
Can ever have this light.
He is not afraid, to take the world’s pain
And put it on his shoulders.
He is not afraid, to fly in the night,
And risk being seen.
So she watches every night, as he takes his flight
Into the darkness.
And every night she sees his wings,
Glitter like diamonds on fresh wool.
