Gone are the days of freedom,
Gone as the wind blows by,
Gone are the smiles and laughter,
Gone is the blue sky,
But I am still here,
Yes, right here waiting,
I have not moved,
I have not gone away.
Gone are the dreams of innocents,
Gone are the leafs of green,
Gone is the love of family,
Gone are the birds that sing.
But I am still here,
Yes, never to leave,
I will not back down,
I will continue to fight.
Gone are the days of peace,
Gone are the springs of water,
Gone is the joy of life,
Gone are the stars of night,
But I am still here,
Yes, and here I stand,
I can not run,
I can not fear.
So be of good cheer,
And dry your tears,
Lift your head,
And believe once more,
All have gone,
But I am still here……
