Holiday Poetry
|
A run through the rain, soaked down to the bone,
Laughing and joking each step of the way,
Carrying fish and chips, soggy as water
Has begun to seep through the newspaper,
The smell of vinegar, strong in the air,
Searching for towels, and plates as we dry our hair,
Giving up, and falling back,
Upon a floral sofa, eating the chips straight from the bag,
Watching the footie on a black and white tv,
Because it shall surely rain for the rest of the holiday.

It sure is nice to have a backup to the other type of day that a holiday can be. Sure enjoyed reading about yours. May God grant you a day as perfect as you can ever want. Thank you for sharing this. wrdz |
