Free Me of My Untruths

Contributed by deadclown on Wednesday, 19th July 2006 @ 06:10:08 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

It's a shame
pity won't be waiting for me
Please don't rain
I'm cold enough and I still can't see
Where's the sun
My body's feeling colder each day
I can't run
It hurt's too much please take it away

Burn my lies
to keep me warm before I go numb
Sacrifice
my thoughts until they no longer come
I'm too tired
Don't want to talk my mind's closing down
Don't admire
my honesty is not how it sounds

Wipe your tears
and put them in a cup by my bed
All these years
I've listened to those cries in my head
Love my pain
it's all I've got that's making me live
It's all for you
so take it cos it's all I can give

Take my hands
and keep them placed secure 'round my neck
Use my eyes
to witness what I do to myself
Steal my mind
so I can't think of what I have left
Close the door
cos I can't stand to see my own breath

I like this one; and despite your warning not to, I admire your honesty! It comes through very strongly, with a torrent of other emotions, and I can really identify with some of the thoughts and feelings you've expressed; lovely write!
