Wishing you were Hills

I stand upon this lonely hill.
This hill is neither friend or foe.
I shall never be known by this hill
Its name i shall never know.
I do not say to the hill
'Will you be my friend?'.
Instead i stand upon this hill
As we watch the daylight end.
This hill never asked me,
'Whats my age or name?'.
Or challenge my identity,
Or even coursed me any pain.
But still i stand upon it,
As i watch it settle cold and still.
And quietly say to myself,
'I wish my friends were more like this hill'.

I really like it, and can relate because I'm going through a rough time with my friends. Isn't it strange how inatimate objects can be better than friends at times? |
