Our souls were made to go together,
They fit so perfectly when held close,
What will become of one, having to live without the other?
It seems, my friend, that only heaven knows.
You were afraid of being alone,
So grabbed the first lover that came along,
You were so scared of facing the unknown,
You didn’t realise the choice you’d made was wrong.
If only you’dve waited;
A year, a little more,
To this time we have right here,
When I walk through your door.
And with one look;
One smile, one glance,
We both wish
We could take this chance.
Hold it, and grab it,
Until we both die,
But it seems that neither one,
Would be willing to lie.
And so here we are;
I’m letting you go,
But not until I’ve said the things,
That I need you to know.
I believe that you love me,
We just happened too late,
So goodbye my dearest friend,
Goodbye my soul mate.

Aw, that's sad. You have taken a classic love story and have written it into a beautiful yet also sad wonderful flowing poem. Makes one think, why isn't love just simpler. It should be but reality shows us sometimes it's not. Nice poem.

I thought this was a wonderful write it is really deep and emotional. I've never experienced this but I could almost feel the pain that you have had. great job
