Can love be so strong
Does it not make us writhe
And our greatest follies
Are they not found in love's refrain
So do tell sage ones
Where is this chord of wonderment
What star is it that we search for
When shall our cries be heard
Am I to hold my breath
For an otherworldly being
Whose hair smells of flowers
And eyes are of golden brown
Should her touch be gentle yet firm
Will her caress bring me bliss
Can her kiss take my breath away
Or her voice return it to me
I would say impossible and fool hardy
Save that I already know
Both love and pain
So I sing with her in love's refrain
