Traveler

On this lonely road I travel
Lady Luck is a real *****
She refuses to visit me
Like a forgotten kid

Yesterday I was ok
I turned down a bright road
That road has gone away
There's more potholes
It turns darker every step I take
Soon will my soul
Why does the deciet continue?
Every turn, every curve
Something worse, something new

I have grown weary
Of this road I travel
My feel have scabbed and bled
Due to sharp stones and gravel

My eyes ache
Why can't I adjust
To this absence of light?
Wouldn't I? Shouldn't I?
Its not meant to be night
Although, there is hope: the sun will rise

It must; it always does
But the moon is relentless
The continual night and despair is a sign
I will remain restless

I must keep walking;
So I tread on...
Looking back at my bloody footprints
That slowly staggered to a halt
I wish I could go back
Replace every that was my fault

Do I fall to my knees
At this point of the road?
Put my hands together and plead?
Just to be told no:
Your bad luck will not change.
Its out of my control

Will I ever be happy
With sticks, stones and gravel?
Will I bleed no longer?
Is this the end of the road I travel?
