I Wait In Cold Rain

Grief

The cold rain
softly touches my face
your warm hand touching mine
holding it
guarding it from the cold
As fast as you came
lightning strikes through the air
and whips you away
I'm left standing there
in the freezing cold rain
no one would believe it
believe you were actually there
I wait there now
for you to come back
I still wait
I wait
for the thunder to roll in
I wait for you
I wait for the lightning to strike
I beg of you to take me with you
but you won't
so
I'm still waiting
I'm waiting for you to return
