Nature

Contributed by Gentlemanpoet on Friday, 14th July 2006 @ 01:50:13 PM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

At the edge of the forest lays a meadow of green.
A doe and her fawn at the brook there are seen.
Eating the grass touched with the dew.
Through the branches and leaves the morning shines through.
The whippoorwill calls, as the silence is broken.
Feathered friends make their music, but no words are spoken.
The chattering squirrel with his tail all a flutter.
And the babbling brook with it’s splash and sputter.
The blades of grass sway in a breeze.
Acorns drop from the large oak trees.
Off in the distance the call of a crow.
Echoing back as he flies to and fro.
In the heat of the day the deer seeks the shade.
The birds that are chirping in the nests that they’ve made.
A duck and her ducklings waddle to the brook.
All lined in a row, like soldiers they look.
As the day ends and the suns out of sight.
All nature prepares for a cool summer night.

Another vision in rhyme. A pure masterpiece. Wis I could write that way. Mine come out so monochrome, yours shine out in a myriad of colour and feeling.Sue x
