The Colours of my Life

Contributed by jerseysue on Thursday, 13th July 2006 @ 04:37:48 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Paint a picture of my life,
And try to make it true,
See the tears I have cried,
So paint this background blue,

See the summers I have spent,
Where things were all so mellow,
Add the calmness of my thoughts,
And paint this section yellow,

The memories of love I had,
Spin round in my head,
Draw a picture of my heart,
And paint this section red,

The grief I had and sad times,
The confidence I now lack,
Should be painted liberally,
In only one colour that is black,

When grief had subsided,
With each passing day,
It lightened the blackness,
So paint the edges grey,

For the hope in the future ,
The dreams yet to be seen
An exciting adventure,
Paint this fresh start green,

Is there someone I know,
Who makes my future bright,
Brand new and so special,
Paint this section white

So the picture is complete,
And it seems that its true,
My life has been a rainbow,
And at the end of it was you

Awwh, how sweet is that? (I literally went awwwh! at the end).

Clever and vivid life-collage. Colour my life indeed.

Wow, what a very lovely poem. The imagery is so brilliant I could see the picture being painted in my mind as I read.

Excellent, Sue, excellent.

Thank you,

Tim
