The Vessel

In the middle of an ocean
An ocean of life
Sails a most wondrous vessel
It carries the weight
Of a world within it
The world of one man
For it carries his pain and sorrow
And his love and joy
But most importantly
It carries his life
And all of its hardships
But also all of its greatness
For life and time
Take a toll on all vessels
But this vessel still sails on
Through the storms
And through the peaceful sun
Where and when it sinks
Will remain unknown
Until the time comes
But until then it will sail
And it will love to its best
And it will fight its problems without rest
For the vessel is the heart
And this is my vessel
This is my heart

Simply charming. Your heart sure sounds like a sturdy vessel too! Lovely poem. |
