Replacing Sweet Marie

Fog rose from the valley
Higher up the mountainside
Coyotes howling longingly
Tonight he will take a bride
Lost in his remembrance
Of how life used to be
Sorrow tears at his heart
He missed his sweet Marie
But the bloodline must go on
So he will remarry
Hunting he leaves the mountain
Animals away scurry
Fear should strike
The hearts of women
In the valley below
The fog is just an omen
Of the terror here to come
Never the earth walks
Such a man as he
And now he stalks
Villagers know the sign
They have seen it once before
When he dragged away
Sweet Marie from her door
