End Of The Red Knight

Contributed by shinji_kusa on Wednesday, 12th July 2006 @ 10:58:02 AM in AEST
Topic: war

The dust had not quite settled,
Around the Red Knight’s tomb,
Before the Earth started shaking,
With utterances of doom,
The people came to find the coffin,
Exposed and opened wide,
The Knight’s body was missing,
Along with his red steel hide,
“He’s come for vengeance!”
“Doom is our fate!”
Yelled the people aloud,
All shut up in their houses,
Whilst a new army came around,
The Red Knight was at the head,
On a horse of deadly black,
Up against the forts,
His army did attack,
But sharpened arrows came,
From the newly laden walls,
The Knight did not expect,
His army should ever fall,
But down they went in strodes,
The Knight was trapped on all sides,
By the bodies of his men,
Piled to the skies,
Caught was the Red Knight,
And brought before the king,
“Why have you done this?”
“What do you want?”
For you are surely dead.”
“The people made such threats towards me,”
“One was your rolling head.”
The Knight let all his secrets out,
He was not that tainted soul,
Who had so easily taken the kingdom,
Those many months ago,
He was the Red Knight’s brother,
The lesser of the two,
When he heard his brother had failed,
He swore he would come through,
“Alas,” said the Knight,
“My campaign is at an end.”
“Please burry me with my brother,”
“For we shall not ascend.”
“No!” said the king,
“For death has came too much,”
“You shall be sent away,”
So you can never touch”,
“ The land, the trees, the people,”
“For if you ever do,”
“Such will I do to you,”
“What the people did to your brother,”
“Cut off your head and lay you to bed,”
“Never to rise another!”
Finally the Knight was done for,
Gone was he at last,
And never will you read of him,
For erased was he from the past.

Very good story line. I like this epic tale.
