In my chair I sit reclining
With my scarlet leather binding
Opened to a page of dire faith and heart
Scrolls and incantations
Leave me in this desperation
Only shown through such a dark and evil art
Every ember in the fire
Lights a flame upon the pyre
For the canvas of my black and reckless soul
Every burden locked within
This tome of all eternal sin
Is the one and only final truth and toll
Scrolls and incantations
Leave me with this aspiration
To close the book I once had taken part
With this dark and desperate yearning
Quelled within this ever turning
Never ending search for such a place to start
I see here, set here, set before me
Calm reminders just beyond the
Threshold forged with love and envy’s final creed
Once a long and forceful journey
Left now a calm and undreamt survey
Of what it is to dream of such a painful greed.

I really liked the darkness of this. (Could be that I just
had a Harry Potter marathon ... not sure lol)
Whatever be the cause, I found your write incredibly
intriguing and extremely compelling. Most enjoyable.
