Affectively Morose

Contributed by hauntedscorp on Monday, 10th July 2006 @ 10:03:00 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

A true revelation of what's in store
And here we find it --
deeply seated in regret

Your tongues passivity; our ultimate threat
Oppressive in its yearning,
burning to be heard

The scattered clippings of contempt
fall silent to the barren floor
Hushed remnants of contentment
lay abandoned by the wayside

Here I sit alone;
in the blackness of my thoughts...
The clincher is the reality of a
saturated dream

Freckled shades of ignorant tones
are beginning to leave their mark

Compelling is the persistence to do this
time, and again

We talk in ineffectual smudges--
neither here nor there

Gaily haunting in its quietude--
The empty embrace of solitude.

As you say, for the most part this poem is free verse, but I love the little touches of internal rhyme, and the occasional end rhyme!!! A lovely piece, thanks for sharing,

I wish I could write like this, Rhyming verse seems to come so easily to me, but any other kind has me bamboozled. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this poem. Thank you . Sue x

*applauds*

Awesome free verse scorperino!!!

That first stanza is emotionally explosive .. and I believe what
follows is just as powerful. It's almost desperate, in a way how
we [humans] keep plunging in time and time again .. hoping
the this time, we shall attain that which we seek to make
ourselves complete. And one day .. we will

Extraordinary hun. And very thought provoking..

(((((((((( Scorperiffic ))))))))))

Cool title.

This poem is very powerful with emotion!!! It made me feel regret, loneliness, and sadness. Quite a metaphorical masterpiece!

Gee, I may have said it already; but I am really really glad to see you back and writing again. No matter the topic, you are quite the poetess!

A most genuine and welcomed unexpected time even though it seems sad. Funny how inspiration does that, huh.

*real like TIMbo hug*

Free verse?I'm not so sure.Your uncontrollable ability to deliver, beautifully,in rhyme, is straining at the leash.

'Your tongues passivity,our ultimate threat
Oppressive in its yearning,
burning to be heard'

Now,that just sings to me but then again, the whole poem does,

great impromptu verse scorp.. Paulie and I go back 'n forth.. 4 words given to each other, where each must begin it's relative line..ending up with a 4 line line stanza.. (impromptu as well..)

you can learn a lot about a person this way~
..and I feel the last line as sure as I do, my own heartbeat-

good stuff-

Billy
