The Wait

Topic: LostLove

or read dylan thomas' "do not go gentle into that good night"

The Wait

Your lasting love for me is gone, so you plainly state.
You’re just messed up, I will forgive you… and so
In solitude amongst the ruins of our love, I wait

Your harsh words or actions I could not berate.
I sit alone and languish, hopelessly longing, even though
Your lasting love for me is gone, so you plainly state.

Your eyes casting daggers, of torment and hate.
The wounds run deep within my heart, and you know
In solitude amongst the ruins of our love, I wait

I have pledged my being to you, there is no debate.
Still hopeful am I for one last embrace, although
Your lasting love for me is gone, so you plainly state.

Like an animal, my love for you is pure - innate
Yours is fleeting in psychotic fog, sure to return. Ergo
In solitude amongst the ruins of our love, I wait

Waiting forever might be this broken lovers fate
Hope may supplant you forever, and I will remain alone.
Your lasting love for me is gone, so you plainly state.
In solitude amongst the ruins of our love, I wait
