If Only You Still Loved Me

Contributed by Ruby2sdy on Friday, 7th July 2006 @ 11:08:04 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

The daylight creeps in, through my reverie,
As I wonder where all the loving could be,
The heartbreaks that shape us, the dreams that we build,
The heart that’s now broken, suddenly stilled,
This silence is golden, I can hear the sound,
Of lost souls calling, they long to be found,
I guess I’m just another damsel, born into distress,
As time goes on I find myself, needing you less,
The world was so simple, when you held me,
Oh, so simple, but you couldn’t see,
We built ourselves a little world, just for us to share,
Such a shame you let it pass, that you didn’t care,
If only you still loved me, if only you’d dare,
Instead of being bothered as other people stare,
I’d show you all the beauty, stored in my fragile soul,
I’d fix all of your bruises, I’d help make you whole,
I’d protect you from the world, I’d give you all I could,
If only you still loved me, if only you would.

Some people say that you can't live on love, but I have to disagree with them. Two people love each other its all that matters. Its such a shame when things don' t work out. The world is a lot easier to endure when someone loves you and that much harder when your alone again.

To love like that is wonderful, to lose it is so painful. But we do it anyway, because we all want to be loved. I love this poem very much, Your words tell it as it is. Sue x
