Spiritual Awareness
~
Sometimes I feel my heart is broken,
My spiritual awareness has been woken
Troubling news on every front,
More terrorist we have to hunt.
~
Crime and hate rule the streets,
Patriotism, fearing defeat.
Flag burning, marshal-law,
Few politicians standing tall.
~
Wars raged on foreign soil,
Tempers heating to a broil
Freedom fought on battle lines,
Lives lost in the daily grind.
~
Gas prices raises alarm,
To our economy it does great harm.
Health care at a record high,
While the uninsured continue to die.
~
America, lives in fear
Of haters living here.
Planning attacks and certain doom,
It’s not if, but just how soon.
~
The last days, we certainly live in,
The whole world is full of sin.
God must cry upon looking down,
At the lack of hope on the ground.
~
How I fear for the lost,
Who don’t realize the eternal cost.
Of staying put, of standing still,
Those not willing to change their will.

If only we could all follow 2 simple things
tAught by many religionsand faiths.
Love Thy neighbour.!
Treat others how you would like to be treated
yourself. !

Today is the anniversary of the london bombings and its been on my mind all day
as people from all races and religions speak out against terrororism

Heartfelt write, and yes I agree with Doug.! But....we all know ppl are humans, and dont follow the teachings.! I loved the write, tho. Keep thinking your feelings......and allowing others to share.! MAYBE, one day someone will listen

Yes Jeff, they are troubling times alright. And while I don't share your religious orthodoxy, I do share your concern about where its all going. Sentiment + message + poetic style = good post.
