Don't doub't the words your mother said
As she tucked you into bed
She loves you and she'd have you know
There's no place in the world she'd go
If she could be right here with you
there's nothing else she'd rather do
Than kiss your cheek and sing goodnight
then keep watch over you til light
She'd watch your small chest rise and fall
and pray that you could have it all
Her thoughts flashing throughout your life
Moments of joy, moments of strife
She'd do it all the same again
She thought as she remembered when
The years went by and times were tough
She only hoped she'd done enough
That you would know the love she felt
the words of wisdom that she dealt
and not a day went by that she
failed to see who you could be

This sounded just like a lullaby. I'm sure a kid could fall to sleep like this. I liked that part where you're watching the chest rise and fall ("you" as in the person talking in the poem...lol just to clarify), only because i've seen that once with a kid, it's hypnotizing to see them so peaceful. lol...babies are cool.
But ANYways...lol I liked this one, it's such a calming kind of reassuring-type write. Peaceful even. You know what? the word I'm looking for is serene. Nice. |

I'm not sure which part I liked more, the loving thoughts and feelings of a mother...or the joy of knowing that a child is bathed in such. |
