This is a Hot Topic

Contributed by franciswolf on Thursday, 6th July 2006 @ 02:14:23 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

You try to quote old proverbs and worn out sayings
But we all know, you spent the time in looking
And you wear old clothes, just to stay off sight
But if that’s your aim, who is it you aren’t impressing?

I bet you thought too much about ghosts and hokey spells
But there’s no potion dear you can be cooking
All the wisdom in the world, well you figure it can be owned
But it took so long, so don’t aggravate, what were you expecting?

If conformity were a trend, why do you wear it like a hat,
Then take the time to address it quite rudely?
I think you’d rather take the time to search for the wrong way
So much that the wrong is right, and so you’ve lost touch

You try so hard to tell me just why you do what you do
But I can’t reject what you pass on so coolly
I can just nod my head and hope you get across
That if you don’t care you shouldn’t care so much

If you have to mention to me that you’re trying to stick it to the man
Then you’re really sharpening the sword you’ll be stabbed by
Who is this man you hate? Is it a figure or a crime?
If you point him out maybe I’d see things more clearly

But I don’t think that you know just what it is you fight
Or what you wish to hurt or at least try
So take a good look in the mirror, I think you’re going to have a scream
When you find the haunt you hate is yours dearly

Very interesting sir, very interesting indeed. Truth be said, hypocracy is something one must always be on the lookout for.

"You who say "do not judge," do you judge?"

I understand where you are coming from or trying to. The thing is it is judgemental and doesn't pretend not to be. The whole thing is a direct slap in the face to "someone" "everyone of a particuliar nature" and should be seen as such. A hypocrite would note the things he or she is common for and dress them as irregular or with harsh words. Not someone who observes, details the problems in their character then goes about being themselves. One can judge with reason and not be out to murder themself.
