Learning
Sometime you stop
amidst a flurry of playing, dancing, singing …
something new or different
that you hadn’t noticed before
transfixes your senses
I ask you what you see,
but the world you’ve just entered
has soundproof walls
Finally you blink,
tilt you head, smile
and the flurry continues

That's exactly what the munchkins do! My sons both did this pretty regularly. If you are lucky you get to have the same experiences as an adult - unfortunately others interpret it as a fugue state or episodic dementia. Their loss of the inner child.

p.s you know, it could be a cognitive reboot, much like when your pc has an overrun of activity and temporarily freezes.... but your version does read better. |
