Summer

Summer
~
Talk to me of sunny days,
Humidity and constant haze.
Sweat dripping off your face,
Clothes sticking to your waist.
~
Talk to me of sunny days,
Tell me it’s just a phase.
Brown grass and wilted flowers,
No-see’ems that bite for hours.
~
Talk to me of sunny days,
Walking around in a daze.
Sun burnt and swollen pink,
Constant hurt to even wink.
~
Talk to me of sunny days,
Until I feel a little craze.
Ninety degrees and going higher,
An ice-cream man I’d love to hire.
~
Talk to me of sunny days,
I’m a ham in a suit lacking glaze.
How much longer can this go on?
Someone tell me it’s almost gone.

Brilliant!!! Makes me think of my sunny and wonderfully unpredictable British weather... us Brits spend winter moaning it's too cold and rainy, then summer arrives, and you guessed it! we all start wishing winter were here again, snowstorms and all... awesome,

What a fun write! I'm sorry that the weather is too hot for you. It has been quite hot here lately as well, but I quite enjoy it! LOL Hope you get some relief soon.

Smiles,
Jennifer

Now Jeff, look at moi, look at moi. I've got one word for you - sunscreen, Jeff, sunscreen. And yes, the bad sun has almost gone. Just ignore him till then.

A very personal diatribe against the worst aspects of Summer, alright. Being a fair-skinned chap who grew up in desert country, I more than sympathise, I empathise. Alas, when its gone, we miss it till next year. Roll on miserable Autumn, and bitter Winter!
