Wailing from high on towers ledge
A simple Maiden is heard
Heart devoured and spit out
By a Knights unkindly word
Heart lies shattered on the ground
Broken beyond repair
Sorrowful songs on the wind
Fill the dense black air
She falls but not by her own hand
She slips on his cast off fears
As she falls she remembers him
And begs he forgets the years
That they laughed, sang and danced
All memories of her gone
Except on the night she died
Let him suffer all night long
Hark now angels hear her plea
The Maiden once joyous and true
Bring her to the promise land
Where skies are always blue
So many days this knight
Lived in ignorance
Except the night the maiden passed
And his feet began to dance
All night long he can not stop
As songs of her fill his head
This Knight who broke the Maiden’s heart
And left her to fall dead

Beautiful in its sadness Shari.
Yes its sad that the ones we love the most seem to be the ones who are taken forgranted until its over then it all comes again.

Shari, although this a sad write and put together very well, love seemed so much more pure in those days-unlike now-
I seem to be drawn to write love poems about those days |
