I’m nervous, and shaky
My body is still
I’m elated, yet petrified;
With all or nothing to lose
Out there- is an audience
Yes, an audience-
Watching me
Questioning my abilities
When I go on this stage
I take a risk; a menace
Facing humiliation
or, in fact, quite the opposite
I put on my mask
And be someone I’m not
Degrading, and deceitful
I give them a show
A grandeur performance!!
I take my bow
I’ve been accepted, and gloried
And I will live up to the fame
Until tomorrow of course...
When I audition again

| The desire for acceptance is definitely epitomized by the act of auditioning. I've dabbled in acting in high school and enjoyed it. Good poem. |
