Statuesque

Contributed by Man_On_High on Sunday, 2nd July 2006 @ 11:06:33 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

We met on differnt sides of the world
yours, the better side of innocence
unknown to our meaner fears
making our day good and clear
a life unpreceived by atrophied vision
smiling kindly at my ineptitude.
I did not know you with my slight mind
but only glimpsed the rare beauty of truth,
disgracing me to my former shell
too painfully true to be good.
You're on the happier side
giving me new knowledge of life
as you held out a hand.

The dark incomprehensible beauty of you
stirring me to efforts beyond my strength
hoping to catch a glimmer of your flame
you'll soon be gone to a sunnier place
and yet, you will never be gone
for you are forever in the wind
of some fallen summer peace,
enduring beyond the fragile mind of men.

Look kindly on me as an object of clay:
a statue in all your Heaven.

Billy

Billy~
This was so moving it had me in tears. You looked through my eyes and told of the feelings that stir deep inside of me. On different sides of the world, yes, but nothing can stop what I feel for you in my heart. You have rekindled that light that was blown out long ago. My deepest of thanks and gratitude to you Billy~
With all my love from ur devoted fan/friend,

Oh billy boy- your soft and sentimental side makes me wanna cry….
Well not cry…but I get mushy inside…..

This was a great write…for me…because although your clay goddess was statuesque to you….it was the human part of the duo which started off flesh and blood…and was petrified when it was all done and said…

” and yet, you will never be gone
for you are forever in the wind
of some fallen summer peace,
enduring beyond the fragile mind of men.”

I wonder…are any of us really alive…or are we all statues who walk around, breathe and eat.

nice write as always

A master peice that yet let's the voice of sandess be heard, and the heart be noticeable and reconized for what it is, something that has undergone a transition
that fears a retun performance in the threatre
of love. as always, quite the poet as well the poetry.

I really like how in so few words you told the reader a complete story, and took us on a journey (of seemingly) self discovery...The sentiments are very expressive, and there's a sort of longing that cannot be denied. I like this one alot Billy.

Dearest~

I've always said you had a most altruistic and profoundly beautiful heart.

I find a quiet calm in this piece. You are so completely gifted. I would liken
your writes to those of the masters you are so fondly and explicitly inspired
by. In fact, I would go so far as to say, you surpass some of those even ..
(a thought I am sure you shall argue to no end) I think the reason that your
writes evoke so much wonder in me, is because there is always so much
of you in them. Completely soft and ever gentle and kind.

Sweets, please forgive my lateness in coming here. My lack in the
ability to amply express my awe and inspiration at your brilliance can, I
believe, be found in the wise words of Oliver Wendell Holmes..

"The world is always ready to receive talent with open arms.
Very often it does not know what to do with genius.”

I know not how to explain just how your genius impresses upon me
a soft vulnerability. But with an amazing inspiration that I can't even begin
to thank you for.

Always, with much love,

~Breezy
