IF NOT FOR YOU

Contributed by jgb on Saturday, 1st July 2006 @ 12:31:20 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

Who would I be if not for you-
A one and only love so true?
All of the gifts time and again-
You’ve given so freely helping me win.
You know good and well the wretch that I am,
Still you refuse to let go of my hand.
You tell me that for tomorrow don’t worry.
I don’t always listen and I get in a hurry.
Often I pay such little attention-
To all of the truths you more than mention.

I reach the top of the mountain you help me to climb-
Just to hurl myself down the other side.
There is no-one but myself to blame.
But you catch me and continue to call my name.
When I was young and growing up-
To many times I was stuck in a rut.
When there was no-one to dry my tears-
Somehow you managed to calm my fears
Who in this world can be compared to you?
There has been no-one that I ever knew.

Another well written and truthful poem, which the kind....................I love the best!
Depending on no one but yourself? Best way to be, then if you let down you..........you can get back up again!
No need to blame you...........for you know who you are.........we're all imperfect.........no one gets a star!
Wonderful I loved it!
Warm love
