Preambled survival;
passive fists and
Acid blisters ballast
calloused skin.
June 2003 hour 13
Before the summer ends
vigilance and woven hearts
will break
the bonds of motherhood.
Rosemary cushions and
Five bushels, white
with yellow waning crescent
marks; clothespins won’t
s t o p
the odor
now.
Fifty yellow browning doorbells
Fifty four paneled, white washed,
Mistletoe hung across the awning,
Doors.
And all but one
That hit you on the ***.
I holster my ashes
in ceramic preamble;
left toes and shrapnel blisters
sting.
