Served Up
~
Take my heart, I serve it up,
On a platter with a coffee cup.
Drink of my soul while it’s hot,
I can be had, but never bought.
~
Munch on my feelings, eat for free,
Devour the man I try hard to be.
Finish me clean, every last bite,
Go ahead, I won’t even fight.
~
Dessert anyone? Have some more,
Finish me off, until I’m sore.
Yet my spirit will not be broken,
I’ll laugh, while you’re choking.
~
Take me now, take it all,
But never will I ever fall.
This tower, I learned to be,
Will continue to protect me.

I enjoyed this Jeff. It is an interesting metaphor for me as I spend a large part of my energy trying to make sure that my family doesn't devour me. :-) I suppose not fighting and giving it willingly would be easier in many ways.
Thank you,

Oh Jeff, I wish everyone should read it.
A veritable manifesto of the independence of the spirit no matter the set backs, disappointments, betrayals, humiliations that men all too often have to go through
The spirit wins out gloriously.
Great Manifesto !
Thanks for posting
